Lando: A Tribute to a Life Well Lived

November 17, 2009 – November 24, 2025

Shortly after celebrating his 16th birthday, we said goodbye to our dear friend Lando. This is a tribute to a dog who truly lived a life many dogs only dream of, surrounded by love, adventure, and exceptional care from the very beginning.

Lando never knew a day without love. He was always the life of the party and wore many unofficial titles, such as cutest sleeper, cutest puppy, and cutest dog doing just about anything. Gord often sent photos capturing Lando’s legendary cuteness, whether he was napping, playing, or simply being himself.

Lando lived for excitement. His younger years were full of energy and fun. Chasing RC cars, playing ball, and mastering the art of fetch. At the store, fetch was his favourite game, but only if you could throw well enough to impress him. If not, he simply stopped bringing the ball back.

He loved water and created his own games in the kiddie pool. Lando adored his sisters and shared a serious bromance with Henry.

In his later years, Lando perfected the art of cuddling. His humans made sure every need and every want was taken care of. He enjoyed lovingly prepared meals of steak and freeze-dried rabbit bites, living out his senior years in comfort and joy.

Celebrating long lives with our dogs is one of the many reasons we love what we do at Domestic Carnivore. Lando’s legacy is a testament to what’s possible with good genetics, a healthy diet, proper veterinary care, and a whole lot of love.

Lando’s family and friends are grateful for the 16 beautiful years they shared with such a joyful and loving dog. We’ll miss his eternal happiness, his cheek-to-cheek smile, and the way he made every day brighter just by being in it.

Rest easy, Lando. You were, and always will be, deeply loved.
